About this file
This document contains an Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) for an upcoming construction project at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. The project, numbered 667-18-121, involves upgrading and replacing the surgery HVAC system and roofing. The ICRA classifies the project as a Type C activity based on the scope of work, which will generate a moderate to high level of dust and require demolition of fixed building components. The affected patient risk groups are determined to be high and highest risk, including operating rooms, intensive care units, oncology, and other areas where immunocompromised patients receive care. Based on the construction type and patient risk, the ICRA matrix circles Class III/IV precautions, the second highest level. The preliminary ICRA is approved, and will require a final signed ICRA to be posted at the construction site once awarded and during project execution.
