About this file

This is a performance test report issued by Intertek Building & Construction on behalf of Clear Armor, documenting forced-entry resistance testing conducted on a 5/8-inch laminated glazing product in accordance with ASTM F1233 standards. The test specimen, measuring 24 inches wide by 24 inches high by 0.616 inches thick, was evaluated at Intertek's York, Pennsylvania facility on March 6, 2026, with the report issued on March 24, 2026. The testing involved subjecting the laminated glazing product to a series of physical attacks using various tools including ball peen hammers, pipes, sledges, and fire extinguishers to assess its resistance to forced entry. The test was completed by Senior Project Engineer Scott T. Gladfelter, P.E., and reviewed by Senior Staff Engineer V. Thomas Mickley, Jr., P.E., with official observation provided by Intertek B&C personnel.

The test specimen achieved a Forced Entry-Physical Attack Class rating of 1.2 (Contraband) and 1.3 (Body Passage), demonstrating its capability to resist unauthorized passage. Specifically, after one application of fire extinguisher and four sledge hammer impacts, a 1/8-inch diameter rod representing contraband was able to pass through the specimen, establishing the Class 1.2 rating. The Class 1.3 body passage rating was achieved after 20 sledge hammer impacts, allowing an 8-inch by 8-inch by 5-inch solid rectangular object to pass through the specimen. Temperature conditions during testing ranged from 75 degrees Fahrenheit to negative 29 degrees Fahrenheit. The report includes photographs documenting the specimen before testing, the forced entry tools utilized, and the specimen during contraband and body passage phases, with record retention mandated through March 6, 2030.

TEST PROCEDURES

The sample was rigidly mounted for forced entry resistance testing. The resources (tools) for forced entry testing were provided to test personnel, in addition to a 1/8 in diameter rod (representing contraband) and an 8 in x 8 in x 5 in solid uncompressible rectangular object (representing body passage). Blunt impact, sharp impact, and thermal stress tools were utilized.

The surface temperature of the test specimen was recorded following each attack sequence.
