Marine Corps System Command, Program Manager for Fire Support Systems (FSS), requires a Buy American compliant, OPF-L solution. The OPF-L consists of (4) major subsystems:

1. LM: Includes an integrated air vehicle, sensors/cameras, launch system and munition control interface. Referred to an All-Up-Round (AUR) when integrated with a warhead. The LM will frequently be referred to as INERT when no warhead is integrated.

2. Ground Control Station (GCS): Includes the command, control, communications, and computers infrastructure that will connect to and integrate the functions of the other subsystems. The GCS will provide the user interface to the operator to enable the capability to monitor and control all critical system interfaces and functions. Initial procurement will leverage a vendor-developed GCS and C2 software (SW). The eventual future integration with a Government-developed C2 will deliver commonality between other OPF increments.

3. Training system. Initial capability expected to be integrated with the GCS. Future evolution into organic training systems is envisioned.

4. Ancillary Equipment: Includes any equipment needed to transport, maintain, and deploy the system.

The OPF-L must be capable of meeting the specified performance in accordance with the OPF-L System Performance Specification.

A C2 system consists of all non-munition items necessary to plan, launch, and control a munition(s).
