The RFP seeks proposers to operate retail concessions across six units totaling approximately 13,279 square feet of leasable retail space in Airside 2 and Airside 4, with a lease term of 10 years. The concession opportunities include travel essentials, newsstands, and gift shops, each with specific product requirements such as travel accessories, books, health and beauty products, single-serving snacks, and beverages. Proposers must adhere to strict guidelines, including prohibited items like alcoholic beverages, gum, and popcorn, and must comply with sustainability requirements like using compostable packaging and offering environmentally-friendly products.
The RFP includes a Minimum Annual Concession Fee of $5,960,000 and an Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) Participation Goal of 25.0 percent. The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority emphasizes the desire for meaningful local, regional, and national brands, and encourages proposers to offer high-quality, locally-sourced products. Voluntary specifications include using organic agricultural products, humanely raised meats, rBST-free dairy, cage-free eggs, sustainable seafood, and products free from artificial additives. The concession units are expected to provide innovative, modern, and visually appealing concepts that exceed traveler expectations and position Orlando International Airport as a memorable destination.
