1. Revise Attachment J-01, Performance Work Statement, Section 10.1, Mission Analysis, to clarify sub-disciplines. The change is indicated by a change bar in the replacement page attached.

RFP NNK16570512R – Amendment 2 Attachment J-01

The Contractor shall provide Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) analysis capability. The Contractor shall provide CAD capability to create, design and maintain 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) drawings, schematics, and models. The Contractor shall perform Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) activities on spacecraft and launch vehicle models. These IV&V activities shall include, but are not limited to: spacecraft to launch vehicle interface verification, accessibility and feasibility assessments for mission integration requirements and LV systems, LV analytical models based upon the Contractor or

CLP provided 3D CAD drawings, and assessment of spacecraft to launch vehicle volumetric envelope compatibility. The Contractor shall provide these diagrams, schematics, and modeling studies as part of the NASA LSP Engineering Review Process and Mission Integration activities.

The Contractor shall provide results on hard copy and electronically to NASA LSP.

10.1 Mission Analysis

The Contractor shall assess analytical items (such as CLP or spacecraft provided analyses, etc.)

throughout the life cycle for NASA LSP sponsored missions and fleet activities. The Contractor shall perform reviews and analyses as required during the feasibility studies and advanced planning phases in support of future NASA spacecraft/programs. These advanced planning phases could include support for spacecraft proposals for a specific mission class (Discovery, etc.), when awarded early in its design cycle (pre-PDR), etc.

The Contractor shall review CLP documents and perform independent analyses, as required, to verify and validate the CLP data. Examples of CLP major deliverables can be found in Section 5 of LSP-UG-330.01.The Contractor shall document ground rules, recommendations and conclusions for CLP deliverables. The Contractor shall provide and maintain technical expertise in analytical sub-disciplines that include, but are not limited to the following:

Dynamic Loads

Dynamic Environments

Stress

Flight Design

Flight Software

Controls and Stability

Thermal/Thermodynamics

Electromagnetic Compatibility

Fluids/Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)/Aerodynamics

For the sub-disciplines listed above, the Contractor shall perform the following:

Develop and create complex vehicle models

Simulate these models using relevant code

Modify or update analytical code as required
