About this file

This document is an Amendment #4 response to vendor questions regarding the Illinois Department of Transportation's (IDOT) Invitation for Bid (IFB) B-13412 / 20-OIPI-R-57797 for the National Airspace Data Interchange Network (NADIN) contract. The intent of this contract is for the selected vendor to maintain the function and equipment for IDOT's thirty-eight (38) non-fed Automated Weather Observation Services (AWOS) III P/T systems to upload their weather information to the NADIN system database. This is not a contract for direct internet connectivity with each AWOS system, as the weather data is accessed by other aircraft pilot systems that pull information from NADIN.

The pricing, set asides, funding requirements, and other salient commercial terms were not provided in the Amendment. This contract opportunity is for the State of Illinois, and the Amendment indicates the procurement process is ongoing, with vendor questions being addressed through this amendment process.

National Airspace Data Interchange Network (NADIN) Invitation for Bid (IFB)

B-13412 / 20-OIPI-R-57797

Amendment #4

Response to Vendor’s Question to IFB

Below is the response to the question that IDOT has received regarding the above IFB:

1. Unsure of what you are requesting. Are you looking at internet connectivity?

Answer: The intent of this contract is to maintain the function/equipment for each Automated Weather Observation Services (AWOS) system to upload their weather information to the NADIN system (data-base). We are not looking for internet connectivity directly with each AWOS system. We can see that by other aircraft pilot accessed systems that pull this kind of information from the NADIN.
