About this file

This document is an amendment to the Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the National Airspace Data Interchange Network (NADIN) contract issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). The IFB seeks a vendor to provide weather data uplink service to the NADIN system for IDOT's thirty-eight (38) non-fed Automated Weather Observation Services (AWOS) III P/T systems. The amendment responds to a vendor's question, clarifying that the intent of the contract is to maintain the function and equipment of each AWOS system to upload weather information to the NADIN system, and not to provide direct internet connectivity to each AWOS system.

The contract does not mention any pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements, or other salient financial information. The amendment focuses solely on the technical requirements and specifications of the NADIN system and its integration with the AWOS systems.

National Airspace Data Interchange Network (NADIN) Invitation for Bid (IFB)

B-13412 / 20-OIPI-R-57797

Amendment #4 Response to Vendor’s Question to IFB Below is the response to the question that IDOT has received regarding the above IFB:

1. Unsure of what you are requesting. Are you looking at internet connectivity?

Answer: The intent of this contract is to maintain the function/equipment for each Automated Weather Observation Services (AWOS) system to upload their weather information to the NADIN system (data-base). We are not looking for internet connectivity directly with each AWOS system. We can see that by other aircraft pilot accessed systems that pull this kind of information from the NADIN.
