About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract N6852026Q1024 concerning the disposal of gas cylinders.

The requirement involves the testing, identification, and complete disposal of multiple gas cylinders of varying sizes (Small, Medium, and Large) categorized by standard industry dimensions. The contract includes 143 unknown cylinders requiring field testing and identification prior to disposal, along with suspected cylinders with illegible, missing, or damaged labels. The anticipated period of performance runs from 15 May 2026 through 30 September 2026. Offerors must propose a total firm fixed price for the entire requirement and must submit a projected timeline for cylinder removal. The Government clarified that it will not issue change orders or modifications to account for cost changes following cylinder inspection and identification. While no site visit was initially offered, a site visit was subsequently scheduled for 14 May 2026 for all offerors to visually inspect the cylinders. Photographs have been provided as reference materials. Offerors may include separate pricing for testing and identification of unknown cylinders in addition to disposal costs, but must propose fixed unit prices for all cylinder types. The Government cannot determine cylinder ownership due to worn, degraded, or missing identifying marks. This is a new requirement with no incumbent contractor.

10 Given that a portion of the cylinders are identified as unknown contents requiring field testing prior to disposal, we would like to confirm the preferred pricing approach for these items.
