Remove and replace all interferences, rig and unrig, stage and unstage, make all disassemblies and subsequent reassemblies, provide and operate equipment, and supply all services and assistance to accomplish the following work. (Material, unless specifically stated as Government Furnished Material (GFM) shall be supplied by the contractor).

7.2. Mechanical/Fluids:

7.2.1. The following requirements apply to all of the piping repairs listed in this work item.

a. New pipe sections shall be targeted and templated from existing (as found required); and shaped, hung, fitted, and/or flanged as per existing arrangement.

b. Contractor shall install gasketed hard blanks and supporting hardware on all piping systems open for repairs listed in this work item.

c. Contractor shall replace existing hardware with new fasteners similar to existing as required for all new or repaired piping systems.

d. Contractor shall use Garlock Blue gasket material in all new and disturbed mechanical joints.

e. Contractor to provide new lagging for all renewed or modified piping sections requiring lagging.

f. Contractor to reuse all existing pipe hangers if available. Hangers are to be assembled using new lining material and new corrosion resistant hardware. Maximum spacing for piping hangers and supports for new piping shall be in approved by the MSCREP prior to installation.

g. All piping penetrations through class A bulkheads and decks shall be in accordance with the applicable ABS requirements for such penetrations.

7.2.2. Preparation of system for return to service: The contractor shall prepare the system for return to service once all work items are complete by performing the following:

a. Cleaning and flushing procedures shall be approved by the MSCREP prior to flushing.

b. All piping, piping appurtenances and applicable equipment affected by these modifications shall be cleaned after fabrication and prior to installation to remove loose particles, grease, dirt and oil. After complete shipboard installation, the affected portions of the system,

0503-3 including dead ended portions of system piping, shall be cleaned and flushed of all foreign matter.

7.3. Carry out the following piping repairs:

7.3.1. WASTEDRAINVENTPIPING: Replace the sections of waste drain vent piping
with material similar to existing (allnewpipingisCFM). Pipe is plain carbon

steel.

a. 2-26-1-L: Vent Pipe Size 2" IPS X 3 feet long

b. 3-109-5-L: Vent Pipe Size 2" IPS X 2 feet long

c. 4-90-4-L: Vent Pipe Size 2"IPS X 2 feet long

d. 4-90-4-L: Vent Pipe Size 2" IPS X 4 feet long

7.3.2 MAIN FEED PUMP PIPING: The 1A and 1C main feed pump (MFP) steam inlet ½” drain valves leak by their seats. This is a low pressure system. Location: 8-86-0-E.

7.3.2.1 Remove existing lagging around the four (4) drain valves to access the areas.

7.3.2.2 Contractor to provide a qualified welder, crop out a total of four (4) steam low pressure drain valves; two (2) on 1A MFP and (2) on 1C MFP. Existing piping is ½”, Schedule 40.

7.3.2.3 Prep all piping, verify flow direction, and weld in new GFM steam drain valves (GFM piping will also be provided). The valves are socket welded valves.

ABS certified welders and procedure shall be used. A certified PT (dye penetrant) test must be performed, with the ABS surveyor to witness) on the root pass and final weld pass.

7.3.2.4 Hydrostatically test the system to 600 PSIG. Acceptance Criteria: No leakage allowed

7.3.2.5 Paint new piping with heat resisting paint

7.3.2.6 Re-lag steam piping in the 4 valve positions with appropriate lagging material rated for 700 deg F (371 deg C) or higher.

7.3.3 A/E STEAM ROOT VALVES: The #2 Distiller Air Ejector (A/E) steam root valves leak by.

7.3.2.1 Remove existing lagging around the two (2) root valves to access the areas.

7.3.2.2 Contractor to provide a qualified welder, crop out a total of two (2) root valves . Existing piping is ½”, Schedule 40.

7.3.2.3 Prep all piping, verify flow direction, and weld in new GFM root valves (GFM piping will also be provided). The valves are socket welded valves. ABS certified welders and procedure shall be used. A certified PT (dye penetrant) test must be performed, with the ABS surveyor to witness) on the root pass and final weld pass.

7.3.2.4 Hydrostatically test the system to 225 PSIG. Acceptance Criteria: No leakage allowed.

7.3.2.5 Paint new piping with heat resisting paint

7.3.2.6 Re-lag steam piping in the 2 valve positions with appropriate lagging material rated for 700 deg F (371 deg C) or higher.

7.3.4 FUEL OIL PIPING: There is a failed pipe in the fuel oil stripping system (suction side of pump). Replace approximately six (6) linear feet of 1-1/2" piping, seamless carbon steel (GALVANIZED). Piping to be dye penetrant tested after welding repairs are completed (ABS to witness testing). Reference drawing 511- 2492419 (F.O. Stripping & Clean Ballast Piping Diagram). Piping sees a maximum pressure of 50 PSIG. Contractor to supply all material.

7.4. Inspection/Test:

7.4.1. System piping shall be hydrostatically tested in accordance with the regulatory bodies. Test shall be completed in the presence of the MSCREP and ABS Surveyor.

Care shall be taken to isolate system components that may be damaged by the hydrostatic test pressure. Allowable leakage is zero.

7.4.2. Piping penetrations through classed bulkheads and decks shall be tested in a manner to satisfy the ABS inspectors and the MSCREP that the classification of the boundary has not been compromised.

7.4.3. The system shall be functionally tested in the presence of the MSCREP and ABS inspector.

7.5. Painting: Mechanically clean, prime, and paint all new and disturbed surfaces to match surrounding areas using the manufacturer’s product data sheets for guidance.

7.6. Marking: Re-install name plates, notices, cable tags, and markings for all new and modified systems (if originally installed prior to the work starting).
