About this file

This is FAR clause 52.216-19 "Order Limitations" from October 1995 that establishes minimum and maximum order requirements for an IDIQ contract for End Plate and Housing Components for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport.

The clause specifies that the Government is not obligated to purchase, and the contractor is not obligated to furnish, orders below the minimum step ladder quantity range for any CLIN. For maximum orders, the contractor is not required to honor orders exceeding the highest quantity in the step ladder range for individual CLINs or combinations of CLINs, or multiple orders from the same office within 30 days that exceed these limits. However, the contractor must honor orders above the maximum unless they notify the ordering office in writing within 7 days of their intent not to fulfill the order.

(2) Any order for a combination of items in excess of the highest quantities in the step ladder quantity range for all CLINs; or

(d) Notwithstanding paragraphs (b) and (c) of this section, the Contractor shall honor any order exceeding the maximum order limitations in paragraph (b), unless that order (or orders) is returned to the ordering office within seven days after issuance, with written notice stating the Contractor's intent not to ship the item (or items) called for and the reasons.
