About this file
This is a federal contract clause template for order limitations applicable to Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts. The clause establishes minimum and maximum order parameters for government purchases under the contract vehicle.
The minimum order threshold is set at 4 each, below which neither the Government nor Contractor is obligated to transact. The maximum order limitation is the full value of the IDIQ with a ceiling of $800,000, applying to both single-item orders and combination-item orders. For requirements contracts that include the Requirements clause at FAR 52.216-21, the Government is not required to split a single requirement across multiple contractors if that requirement exceeds maximum-order limitations. The clause permits contractors to reject orders exceeding maximum limitations if returned to the ordering office within a specified timeframe (number of days left blank) with written notice explaining the reasons. The clause also includes a provision for series of orders from the same ordering office within a specified period, with a blank field for the number of days. Upon contractor rejection of an excess order, the Government may procure the supplies or services from alternate sources.
