About this file
This document is an Attachment J-12 containing Answers to Request for Clarifications for three specific work items (No. 56-58). Key details include:
The clarifications address multiple work items for what appears to be a naval vessel maintenance contract. Question 56 concerns a propeller hub replacement, where the shipyard is requested to provide pricing for a Category "B" emergency work item, noting both hubs were previously replaced in 2025. Question 57 clarifies execution conditions for a propeller clean, polish, and hull inspection, confirming the work can be accomplished during dry dock. Question 58 involves replacing work item 0024 "OCONUS Force Protection" with work item 0040 "SWI Force Protection" and revising associated documentation. The document provides contact information for Rolls Royce Marine (manufacturer's representative) and indicates that revised work item specifications and a J-3 Contractor Pricing Sheet Rev.2 have been attached.

Although this project is based on DRYDOCKING, according to the work item 0958 specification, the work related to the propeller, rudder and transducer are described as being performed in a waterborne condition. Please confirm if our understanding is correct, or if these works should be carried out during DRYDOCKING instead.

If WI 0024 is an item that must be performed, please send us the specifications for WI
0024 and a J-3 Form containing WI 0024.
ANSWER NO.58:
Work item 0024 “OCONUS Force Protection” to be replaced by work item 0040 “SWI Force Protection,” and work item 0030 “Continuation of Services” paragraph 7.9 was revised accordingly. Please see attached revised work item
