Q&A AS OF 7 AUG 2014

Responses to Questions

KanBan

Question 1:

In regards to the Splash Guard (Deliverable 1.B.14): Does it satisfy the functional requirements of these splash guards if the bottom bin of each rack does not have holes in it, but rather is a bin with a solid base? The bin pictured at left is at risk of spilling liquids onto the floor due to holes on the base of the bin, thus necessitating a splash guard, but does a solid based bin suit the purpose of this requirement?

Answer:

A solid base to the bin does not replace the need for a splash guard.

Question 2:

1. Since we are providing blended pricing for CLIN0001, is it reasonable to provide a breakdown of that CLIN through SLIN0001A: dividers, SLIN0001B: label holders, etc, for maximum visibility into price composition?

Answer:

Yes, but it is not required.

Question 3:

Would it be acceptable to provide more than one (1) pricing option, based upon optional hardware attributes?

Answer:

Yes, additional pricing options will be acceptable.

Question 4:

With regard to DELIVERABLE 1.B (4), in which it is noted “High visibility of product contained in the baskets is preferred“, can the CO clarify what physical characteristics baskets should feature to be deemed technically acceptable for this requirement?

Answer:

To be technically acceptable, bins shall be constructed of plastic (polycarbonate), or material of equal or greater strength and durability.
