QUESTIONS FOR AHTS GBTS INDUSTRY DAY ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS
9-10 July 2019
1. What would be your process for delivering FAA qualified Flight Training Devices (FTDs) for TH-XX aircraft in the absence of a parent FAA qualified FTD?
2. What experience do you have with FAA scheduling and conducting 14 CFR Part 60, Appendix D evaluation in order to obtain a Statement of Qualification (SOQ) for a simulator that you have built/sponsored?
3. In your experience with SOQs, how long did it take from the start of the FAA engineering evaluation of objective data through completion of FAA oversight of SME pilot subjective evaluation?
4. Do you have any simulators projected to request/obtain a SOQ from the FAA between now and the expected AHTS GBTS services RFP release in 2Q FY20?
5. What are the expected delivery times for FTD Level 6 and Level 7s with a certified parent device? Without a certified parent device? How will the availability of OEM data affect the schedule? What steps can you take to maintain the Government’s schedule for IOC?
6. Has your organization previously provided a Level 7 FTD with six degrees-of-freedom?
7. The Navy considers the TH-XX and AHTS GBTS RFP to be interdependent. What challenges, opportunities, and risks do you anticipate if the Navy requested proposals prior to the award of the TH-XX?
8. Are you considering a teaming relationship? If so, with whom?
9. The media has been very active regarding the TH-XX procurement. With your knowledge of the helicopter industry, please identify any experience or teaming relationships you have with these OEMs.
10. What risks/issues do you foresee in this procurement that the Government could help mitigate?
