STATEMENT OF WORK

Project: NET-018, Layer 1 Cabling, Bldg 3339, FL 2

1.0 Background

Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) requires the installation of CAT6 cabling in Building 3339, Floor 2 within the specified limits of the statement of work. These rates may be adjusted only as a result of revisions to prevailing labor rates provide by the Secretary of Labor.

2.0 Scope

Requirements are for contractual services to install CAT6 cabling for SWRMC.

3.0 Acronyms and Definitions

4.0 Requirements

The contractor shall provide installation services for the following:

0001. Conduct site survey based upon requirements below.

0002. Install a total of ninety-three (99) dual CAT6 cables to the twenty-two (22) rooms. These cables will feed from the IDF in room 222.

0003. Terminations must be performed using an 8-pin (RJ45 type) connector, rated for the category of the installed cable. Jack pin/pair configuration must be T568A per TIA/EIA-568-B.

0004. Copper data cable length must be limited to 295 feet (90 m) from patch panel termination in the

TR to the data outlet termination in accordance with TIA/EIA-568-B.

0005. Copper outlet/connector must be TIA/EIA category 6 (Cat 6). All connectors must be 8-pin/8-position insulation displacement terminations wired per T568A. Copper cables must not be split between multiple modular connectors.

0006. Fiber optic distribution cable must be terminated in cabinet/rack-mounted patch panels using TIA/EIA type LC connector.

0007. Fiber optic cable installed will be 62.5/125-micron.

0008. Plenum cables must be provided in accordance with National Fire Protection Association, Inc.

(NFPA) 70.

0009. Outlet boxes will be approximately 4-inch (102 mm) square by 2-1/4 inch (57 mm) deep boxes and include two blanks position for future applications.

0010. Outlet boxes to be installed twelve (12) inches from the floor.

0011. Install 1" x 1/2" surface-mount raceway from the top of the outlet box to the ceiling using a

Drop Ceiling Entrance End.

0012. Outlet faceplate will use a full faceplate with two blank positions for future applications.

0013. The telecommunications systems labeling must be done in accordance with TIA/EIA-606-A.

a. As a minimum the following must be reflected in the outlet/patch panel labeling:

1. D1 for primary (blue cable)

2. D2 for secondary (white cable)

v. Labeling must be a minimum of ¼-inch (6mm) high

vi. Handwritten labels must not be used for the final configuration

vii. Example: SWRMC-3339-209-001 D1/D2 0014. Install conduit sleeves for entrance to each room and a stub up in the IDF, if applicable.

0015. Install a network cabinet with the following specifications:

a. 24U 48"H x 24"W x 42"D Frame

b. M6 square holes

c. Front Plexi Door

d. Back Mesh Door

e. Side Solid Panel (Pair)

f. Top 3 Fan Panel

g. Keyed Lock

0016. Install a new pathway for all cables installed where applicable.

0017. Terminate, test, and label all cables installed.

0018. Terminate cables from workstations to installed wall ports.

0019. Install (1) 12 strand MM (62.5 micron) fiber optic cable within inner duct from room 222 to room 200.

0020. Terminate, test and label new fiber cable.

0021. Provide labor and equipment to remove existing, unused cable in the ceiling infrastructure.

0022. Provide as built / record documentation upon completion.

0023. The designer must specify that all telecommunications cable, installed as part of a project, be tested to the commercial standards for that cable system. All test results and certifications must be provided in a report upon completion.

0024. Submit project plan specifying activities and estimated start and finish dates.

0025. Remove all unused cable as identified by SWRMC IT Division.
