The Contractor shall remove all interferences prior to removal of each engine and install interferences upon installation of each engine. The interferences specified in the Statement of Work (SOW) are the cross-over equipment.
Each appendix in the SOW specifies the removals and installations necessary. The specific paragraphs in each appendix are titled Existing Engine Removal and Engine Installation.
The Engine Installation Paragraph states: "Contractor shall provide materials and services to purchase and install new engine mounts and associated hardware IAW Ref (24) through (42)." This includes the purchase of new engine mounting bolts. The bolts and associated torques are specified in the SOW References.
Each engine in this contract is either new or rebuilt to remanufacture standards under a distinct Government contract. Each engine is dynamically tested in a completed state by the Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) Regional Authorized Distributor. Each engine is preserved following these tests. The boatyard contractor (Awardee of this contract) will receive each engine in a completed, tested and preserved state. Part swapping will not be performed.
The SV64 MTU M92 Engine securing hardware information can be found in reference 51123000002-001-B. This reference is noted in the SOW and gives the fastener size and torque specification for securing engine to its foundation in the vessel.
