About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for a federal solicitation (Solicitation Notice ID: N40085-26-R-0270) issued on 08 October 2026. The document addresses inquiries from potential contractors regarding the inspection and testing of electric and diesel fire pumps, engines, controllers, and an oil/water separator at Building R38, Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Earle.
One question was submitted asking whether previous inspection, testing, maintenance, or service reports are available for the fire-pump systems at Building R38, noting that such historical documentation was not included in the solicitation package and would assist contractors in understanding the equipment's current condition given fire damage and prolonged inactivity referenced in the Statement of Work. The government responded that no sufficiently accurate inspection report exists, clarifying that the primary objective of this contract is to perform a comprehensive, in-depth inspection of the fire pump systems and deliver a detailed report documenting their condition.

SOLICITATION NOTICE ID: N40085-26-R-0270
TITLE: Inspection & Testing of Electric and Diesel Fire Pumps, Engines, Controllers, and Oil/Water Separator at NWS Earle, BLDG R38
Requests for Information & Responses
1. Are any previous inspection, testing, maintenance, or service reports available for the diesel and electric fire-pump systems at Building R38? The solicitation package we received does not include prior reports, and they would help us understand the equipment's condition given the fire damage and prolonged inactivity noted in the SOW.
o We do not have a sufficiently accurate inspection report; therefore, the primary objective of this contract is to perform a comprehensive, in-depth inspection and provide a report.
