The AV package shall be developed following the Best Value Determination (BVD). The spec section we use for the base bid construction contract is a Division 01 Spec, 01 30 02.00 22 (Will upload as an attachment).

This spec outlines the BVD Process including meetings and submittal requirements.

PV System Schedule requires Q Cell 490 w PV system but manufacturer does not produce this wattage anymore. Please confirm if Q Cell 590 w panels at a quantity of 125 is acceptable.

Q Cell PV panels were a basis of design, and the Solar PV system is a delegated design.

Drawings call for the use of external DC combiner boxes in the PV system design.

However, the drawings call for SMA Sunny Tripower CORE1 50 kW / 62 kW inverters, which come equipped with 12 direct string inputs, integrated string fusing, built-in DC disconnects, and surge protection (SPD).

Please confirm if we can remove the unnecessary DC combiners.

The DC combiner boxes are not required if there is an readily accessible disconnecting means, surge protection and system compatibility.

SMA Sunny Tripower CORE1 was a basis of design, and the Solar PV system is a delegated design.

The current design shows two AC disconnects and two points of interconnection, but per NEC and Dominion Energy guidelines, only one point of disconnect and one interconnection is allowed.

This would require combining both inverter outputs into a single panelboard, leading to:

• One AC disconnect

• One 150A breaker for final PV connections Please confirm if this correction is acceptable.

Dominion Energy requires written approval for more than one point of interconnection. PV system is a delegated design.

The drawings show tilt-mounted solar panels on a 3:12 sloped metal roof, which is not practical or structurally possible. We recommend switching to a flush mount system using S-5! clamps and IronRidge rails, which are well-suited for this roof type. Flush mounting reduces structural load, simplifies installation, and offers adequate solar performance on a 14° slope. Please confirm if we can proceed with the flush-mount design.

Solar Panel is a delegated Design.

Please confirm the racking system (type, manufacturer, and model) specified for the solar installation.

Solar Panel is a delegated Design.

Please provide more information on the DAS (Data Acquisition System) and PV monitoring requirements.

Specifically:

• What are the system monitoring requirements?

Confirmed.

IN601, Interior Finish Legend, WS-1 Comments states, “Roller Shade to not be within 48” of the floor.” Is this requirement for classroom shades only, or all shades in the project?

This requirement is for all shades in the building, but especially the child activity rooms.

The bid drawings call for the use of external DC combiner boxes in the PV system design.

However, the drawings call for SMA Sunny Tripower CORE1 50 kW / 62 kW inverters, which come equipped with 12 direct string inputs, integrated string fusing, built-in DC disconnects, and surge protection (SPD).
