About this file
This document is an Addendum 0002 for a federal contract to replace a generator and transfer switch at Building 292 at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA, dated 21 Jul 2025. The addendum details comprehensive replacement requirements for an existing natural gas generator, including demolishing the current generator, disconnect switch, and automatic transfer switch, and installing a new 100kW, 3-phase, 480/277V, 60Hz diesel generator with specific technical specifications.
Key replacement requirements include installing a new generator with a sub-base fuel tank, Level 1 sound-attenuated aluminum weatherproof enclosure, and a new 150A automatic transfer switch with maintenance bypass. The fuel tank must be an above-ground, double-walled, stainless-steel, factory-fabricated diesel fuel storage sub-base tank conforming to UL 2085 standards, with electronic overfill and leak detection systems. The generator and enclosure must have a factory-applied coating system suitable for the severe corrosive environment, and all work must be coordinated with the Contracting Officer, NAVFAC UEM, and the resident activity.
