About this file
This document contains a federal contract opportunity and related pre-proposal inquiries for a maintenance dredging project at Naval Weapons Station Earle. The solicitation seeks dredging of approximately 2.26 million cubic yards of material from nine areas around piers and channels at the station to authorized depths using a clamshell dredge. Dredged material will be transported via split-hull or bottom dump scows and placed at an offshore remediation site. The project requires a minimum daily production rate of 7,500 cubic yards and will be conducted in two phases during summer 2022 and summer 2023. One pre-proposal inquiry questioned a requirement for screening dredged material through a 12-inch grizzly screen which has been deleted, though contractors must still comply with permit terms regarding debris handling. The opportunity is issued by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Department of the Navy.
