25‐19 ##‐S‐201 Detail2

For village buildings such as buildings #49, 52, 68 and 75 please confirm what the exterior balcony (2/##‐S‐201, at 22’‐6” x 5’‐0”) is constructed of. For example; we understand that the guardrail is metal but is the walk platform and support columns precast or misc. metal components.

The exterior balcony consists of precast slabs and precast columns as indicated on the plans. MMSA

25‐19 99‐A‐702 Detail 1

The majority of the 2‐story precast village buildings call out ladders at the roof hatches and a few like building #4 do not. Should we assume that we need a ladder at all roof hatches or are some meant as rappelling access only? See 1/99‐A‐702 for reference.

All roof hatches get ladder. LS3P

11/28/2018, resubmitted 1‐

25‐19 99‐A‐702, 89‐A‐110 11/99‐A‐702

Please confirm whether or not a guardrail and gate is not required at all roof hatches as per 11/99‐A‐702. There is a note for reference on 89‐A‐110 but it is not noted this way throughout the other buildings.

All roof hatches get guardrail and gate.

25‐19 General

The majority of the 1 & 2‐story precast village buildings call out “Walkable WP/Seal over immersive village roof” but some do not. Should we assume all roof slabs have this note? If not all of these buildings have this requirement, please provide a finish schedule noting this.

All village precast roof structures get traffic coating and sealant waterproofing system. LS3P

14‐A‐201A & 202A and 41‐A‐201A

The exterior finishes on building 14 is not fully shown, please clarify the 360 finish of this building. I.e. is it all PRE‐1? (see 14‐A‐201A and 202A and 41‐A‐201A)

Per spec, drwgs and village finish schedule/A350‐A352) all bldgs, site walls and site mounted equipment enclosures receive scenic painting

11/28/2018, resubmitted 1‐

25‐19 41‐A‐201A

The exterior finish on building 41 depicts the same on 3 sides (PRE‐2 & PRE‐3) of the building and then it changes to PRE‐1 & PRE‐3 on 1 side (see 41‐A‐201A), is this as planned?

Per spec, drwgs and village finish schedule/A350‐A352) all bldgs, site walls and site mounted equipment enclosures receive scenic painting

11/28/2018, resubmitted 1‐

25‐19 52‐A‐201A

73‐A‐201A and 89‐A‐ 202A

On page 73‐A‐201A and 89‐A‐202A, detail 1 there appears to be rectangular block outs on these details, what are these?

Some rendered village building elevations have rectangular block‐ outs. If it's not noted and there is no matching block‐out in the corresponding elevation please disregard the block‐out. Ex: 72‐A‐201 and 72‐A‐201A ‐ bldg. 72 back elevations ‐ both show same block‐out for window opening. However, 73‐A‐ 20 and 73‐A‐201A ‐ bldg. 73 front elevations ‐ block‐out shows on rendered elevation 73‐A‐20, so please disregard. LS3P

25‐19 89‐A‐101 & 89‐201

1/89‐A‐101 and 3/89‐201

There are notes on the drawings such as 1/89‐A‐101 and 3/89‐201 that states “IED Typ”. What is this, where is the detail and is this a CFCI? item?

“IED” is a note for precaster. Please see PRECAST GENERAL NOTEs #6 on drawings: "IED – 8” to 12” irregular shaped with 1 ½” deep depression from wall surface. Locate between 18” to 36” above adjacent finished grade or finish floor, which ever is higher”.

99‐A‐601 and 99‐A‐

3/99‐A‐601 and 21/99‐A‐

3/99‐A‐601 and 21/99‐A‐403; For window types 1,2 and 3 specifically window openings called out as “security grills” what does this infill look like? It is very confusing as there are openings #1, 2 or 3 “A, B or C” that are wood shutters, openings labeled #’s 1, 2 or 3 that are simply openings and then there are callouts for security grills that are not on these pages – example 89‐A‐101. Please clarify all.

Windows 1, 2, 3 (A403) per jamb detail 26/99‐A‐402 no infill, just perimeter HSS frame. Windows 1B, 1C, 2B, 3B with barn wood shutters reference detail 35/99‐A402 with hinged jambs.

Security grill assume same perimeter HSS with welded wire mesh 3"x3", 9 gage, galvanized. Reference building elevations for locations

25‐19 99‐A‐601 14/99‐A‐601

Do all Arch openings above doors (interior and exterior) follow detail 14/99‐A‐601 requiring galvanneal sheets on both sides although the majority of these doors are plywood? What is the finish of this galvanneal material?

Sheets both sides of door. Finish on galvannel panels is the textured finish per finish schedule A350‐A351, galvaneal panel

11/28/2018, resubmitted 1‐

25‐19 General

Per the drawings, the galvanneal panels in the shipping containers are shown as painted/finished, the galvanneal panels in the precast buildings are not shown as painted. What are the criteria for finishing these if any? A finish schedule will be helpful if differing finishes are required as they are not labeled throughout.

See village finish schedules A350‐ A351. Galvanneal interior panels on right side of schedule

Are air barrier requirements required for the AAR trailer compound? The UFC 1‐201‐ 01, Non‐Permanent DOD Facilities in support of Military Operations, does not require it. Having to meet this specification for a building of this construction will be extremely cost prohibitive and is not industry standard. The manufacturers simply do not do this for these structures and will need to have a separate subcontractor come in and spray these walls before they are closed up. This will also require secondary air barrier work once the sections are being installed together onsite.

Air water barrier only recommendtion as long as UFC 1‐201‐01 non‐perm DOD facility offers an exception as stated in PPI question

Are Commissioning requirements required for the AAR trailer compound? The UFC 1‐201‐01, Non‐Permanent DOD Facilities in support of Military Operations, does not require it. At a minimum the specification should be tailored to address a modular building.

The AAR building is required to be tested and balanced which includes a two season performance test. CBHF

There is conflicting information between the floor plan drawings and elevation drawings regarding door information; In bldg. 12 (room 104), bldg. 27 (rooms 101 and 104), bldg. 43 (room 104), and bldg. 44 (room 104). On the floor plan drawing, the door information given is DOOR NO 4 (door type C) but on the elevation drawings they are shown and labeled door type G. Please confirm what door type is to be used.

Amendment #4, RFI responses 50‐58

In response to RFI #50‐58 responses, the original RFI is not referring to the G key tag. It is referring to the opening/door schedule to the number 7 in the hexagon that then refers you to the door schedule that is on sheet 99‐A‐401, that then gives you a letter which is G that then refers you to a detail on sheet 99‐A‐403 to door type G Lattice door. The floor plan drawings and elevation drawings conflict with each other. The elevation calls for an opening while the floor plan drawings call for DOOR NO 7 which when you go to the door schedule (sheet 99‐A‐401) you get all the door and frame information that then refers you to sheet 99‐A‐403 which stated that DOOR NO 7 is a type G Lattice door. Please advise what door number on the door schedule is to be used in each of these drawings where there is conflict.

Amendment #4, RFI response 49

In response to RFI 49 it states to use type C doors for all interior doors that are missing door information (the hexagon with a number in it that refers you to the door schedule on sheet 99‐A‐401 that then refers you to sheet 99‐A‐403 for the door type and detail, as well as the frame type and detail). From sheet 99‐A‐403 the door details type C doors are overhead coiling door, and there are also two different sizes for type C doors DOOR NO 4 and DOOR NO 5 on the door schedule on sheet 99‐A‐401. The floor plan drawings are showing swinging doors not any overhead coiling doors, additionally there is not the allowable space in any of the floor plans with the missing hexagon with a number in it that refers you to the door schedule on sheet 99‐A‐401 that then refers you to sheet 99‐A‐403 for the door type and detail, as well as the frame type and detail to put in either size of the type C door (overhead coiling door) that is in the door schedule. Please confirm the DOOR NO of the door that you are referring to on the door schedule.

assume all interior doors get door symbol #2 per door schedule on 99‐ A401. This references elevation “B” door per 99‐A403 and corresponding frame details 24, 25/99‐A402. No overhead coiling door. Swing

11/28/2018, resubmitted 1‐

25‐19

Amendment #4, RFI response 48

In response to RFI 48, sheet 12‐A‐101 does call out door and frame types via the hexagon with a number in it that refers you to the door schedule on sheet 99‐A‐401 that then refers you to sheet 99‐A‐403 for the door type and detail, as well as the frame type and detail. The floor plan drawing and elevation drawings conflict with each other. Please confirm the door number to be used in room 102 or if it is an opening because sheet 12‐A‐101 calls for DOOR NO 7 that when you go to sheet 99‐ A‐401 says DOOR NO 7 is door type G and on sheet 99‐A‐403 door type G is a Lattice door, but on the elevation drawing it shows it as an opening.

assume door designation on elevations is correct

25‐19 26 00 00 & 26 41 00 Can you please confirm that lightning protection nor building grounding is required at the village buildings; both shipping containers and precast structures alike.

Lightning Protection and additional grounding is not required at Village Buildings. CBHF

66 1/28/2019 Amendment 7 Amendment 7; The renderings issued depict metal and/or wood wall panels that are attached to the roof of the precast structures. This scope for these areas is not identified in the drawings. Please confirm that the drawings govern.

Building plans, elevations and their accompanying finish material/texture schedule govern

67 1/28/2019 Amendment 7 Amendment 7; The renderings issued depict rubble and tire piles, props and other scenic features that are not represented in the other bid documents, please confirm that these items are GFGI. Government to confirm

70 1/28/2019 AAR Building Set, A‐

The current design has the modules at 14’ wide or more. Will the user allow modules to be no more than 13’ 10” wide? Buildings over 13’ 10” will have very costly shipping constraints. Government to confirm

71 1/28/2019 AAR Building Set, A‐

A module mate line would fall on the right side hall way wall. Thus a structural column will need to be placed on the right side of the double door. Can the hallway be shifted to the left to accommodate a column?

We'll review if you can send preferred column and corridor shift dimensions needed

72 1/28/2019 AAR Building Set, A‐

On the ceiling plan ‐ the gypsum ceiling in the IT room is listed at 9’. This will be constrained by shipping height. Please advise if there is flexibility to this finished height?

All ceilings indicated 9'‐0" per A121, ceiling legend. Please send max ceiling restrictions

73 1/28/2019 AAR Building Set, S‐

203 & A‐151

On the roof plan – standing seam roof is called out. Standing seam roof typically requires a 2” per slope. This would make the units too tall to ship. Can EPDM .060 black be used? TPO? Maintain 1/4"/FT metal roof

74 1/28/2019 AAR Building Set, S‐

Is there a detail for the required floor assembly?

floor systems consist of metal stud framing with ¾” plywood sheathing designed by the modular building manufacturer with VCT covering

75 1/28/2019 AAR Building Set, M‐

The mounting locations of the heat pumps shown in the current design prevents the factory from being able to mount the units in the shop. Due to this the units must be mounted in the field which is a major cost driver. Would the government consider attic mounted mechanical equipment?

Locate heat pumps per plans

76 1/28/2019 Amendment 7 CLIN 00001AI ‐ It is assumed that this CLIN is to incorporate the entire modular building including its contents, foundations, site prep for the building, TAB, Cx and Air Barrier testing. If any of these assumptions are bad please correct. Agree

77 1/28/2019 Amendment 7

CLIN 00001AJ ‐ The painting scope is assumed to take into account total weathering look of all buildings to include precast structures, conex buildings, site amenities (telephone poles, electrical panels), gates/fence, graffiti panels, awnings, doors, shutters, wood and steel panel props with a 3 year warranty. It is also stated to paint both sides of all interior galvanneal panels. It is understood that to achieve the desired "weathered" look on top of the "scenic" appearance that 3‐4 coats in all of these areas is typical. If any of these assumptions are bad please correct.
