The following have been added by full text:
AMENDMENT 0004
1. The drawings attached with this amendment are hereby incorporated into the solicitation project requirements.
2. Question: Is Air Barrier Testing required?
Answer: No
3. Question: S-101 & 4/A-502 & 3/A-103 – Please provide a detail of how the steps up to the catwalk, and the lower landing on which the steps rest are to be constructed.
Answer: Construct catwalk, platforms and steps with ¾” plywood and 2x lumber. See Sheet S-
4. Question: Drawing A-103 – Is the Standing Seam Metal Roof to be installed over a structural metal deck, or directly to the roof purlins?
Answer: See structural drawings
5. Question: Drawing S-001, note 14, directs that the roof sheathing is wood; 1/A-502 detail does not give sufficient detail of the roof sheathing or decking. Please provide a clarification of the requirement for the decking & roofing configuration, and specifications for what is required.
Answer: Disregard note 14
6. Question: Drawings M-601 & 2/A-502 – Please provide the lover sizes required for the
Side-Wall Louvers. Please provide details of any duct-to-louver attachments required.
Answer: Provide gable louver approximately 14’-0” W x 3’-0” H. Coordinate with truss manufacturer and field measure.
7. Question: Drawings A-102 & 7/A-402 – Please provide a BOD manufacturer and
Specifications for the Metal Panel Ceilings.
Answer: Provide factory prefinished 24 gauge flush metal panel with concealed fasteners similar to Fabral Décor-Flush panel.
8. Question: Please provide the construction requirements for the Attic Draft Stops. With what materials are these to be constructed? Is the sheathing to be on one side of the Draft Stop or on both sides? Are these Draft Stops to be rated?
Answer: See sheet S-102 and S-301. Draft stops are not rated.
9. Question: Please confirm that the doors and frames in these Draft Stop walls are to wood, as noted in the Door Schedule.
Answer: Provide per contract documents
10. Question: Please confirm that Doors 100B, 200B, 245A, 300B, are to have Type N Door
Frames.
11. Question: The specs indicate that the frames are to be level 1 (20 gauge) and the doors are to be level 2 (18 gauge) . While a 18 door would work a 20 gauge frame is relatively weak considering the amount of usage these doors will be taking. Typical projects aboard Camp Lejeune are at least 16 gauge frames and 16 gauge doors. Please advise if we can price 16 gauge for frames and doors in lieu of 20 gauge frames and doors.
Answer: Revise Door Classification to Level 3 Extra Heavy-Duty Doors for all doors and revise Frame Classification to Level 3 for all frames.
12. Question: What are the dimensions of the shower stalls to be abated?
Answer: This requirement is shown on the contract drawings.
13. Question: What is the total number of shower stalls?
14. Question: How thick is the shower membrane ?
Answer: Existing shower membrane to be abated is unknown.
15. Question: What is the subfloor? Concrete? Wood?
Answer: This condition is shown on the contract drawings.
16. Question: Where are the water supply lines and drain pipes for the showers located?
17. Question: Drawing 2/S-302 shows new Masonry infill around exterior door and window openings. When the existing masonry is demolished, can this be done by saw-cutting in a vertical line (as shown on this detail), or is the infill required to be “toothed in” for both the CMU and brick veneer?
18. Question: Drawing A-503, showing the new Walkway Railings, has a railing profile of a welded extruded aluminum railing; the specification 05 52 00 indicate the handrails are to be hot-dipped galvanized steel handrails. Please clarify the requirement for the new handrails.
19. Question: Drawing S-502 shows structural steel reinforcing around openings in the
Coreslab roof and floor slabs; however, the drawings do not show clearly the number and size of the openings that will require the reinforcing. Would you please provide clarification on the number and sizes of these openings?
Answer: Coordinate with Mechanical drawings.
20. Question: Drawing 3/A-401 shows a detail section of the Washing Machine Chase walls.
Do the walls require sound batt insulation? Insulation is drawn but not noted.
Answer: Insulation is not required in the Washing Machine Chase.
21. Question: Drawing 3/A-401 shows a detail section of the Washing Machine Chase walls.
Do the walls require a covering on the interior of the chase walls? There is no interior covering noted.
Answer: No
22. Question: Drawing 6 & 7/A-401 shows “Insulated Magnetic Gasket” around all 3 sides of the Dryer Wall Opening. Since the dryers are not in this contract (Note A11, A-401), will these “Insulated Magnetic Gaskets” be provided with the dryers, or are they required by the contractor?
Answer: The Contractor shall provide gaskets.
23. Question: Drawing 2/A-401 and 6 & 7/A-401 shows different construction materials & methods for the Dryer Chase Walls. Please clarify which detail is required. (Since ceramic or porcelain tile is not shown on the finish schedule for the laundry room, is the Fiber Cement Board required?)
Answer: Provide cased openings constructed with fiber cement trim boards (similar to Hardie, not fiber cement tile backerboard)
24. Question: Drawing 2/A-405 – The Drawing shows a ceiling access panel that is about 32” X
44” per the scale; however, the specifications specify both 12” X 12” and 14” X 14” access panels. Please clarify the size of access panes required.
Answer: Provide 42” x 48” access panel at all sleeping room soffits.
25. Question: Specification 06 41 16,2,1,1,2 calls for a face frame on the vanity cabinets;
however the cabinets are shown to be Plastic Laminated and can only be frameless construction. Please clarify the cabinet requirement.
Answer: Provide frameless construction
