LED Requirements
In selecting LED linear fixtures for this project, the following criteria have to be satisfied:
• CCT range 3000 to 3,500K, CRI >80 (CRI 90)
• 2500 to 5000 luminaire lumens
• Efficacy: 90 125 LPW
• Controls in accordance with UFC 3 530 01
• Options for integral emergency battery pack (1400 lumens), integral daylight sensor, integral occupancy sensor
• Product warranty: 10 years or 5 years (minimum including driver).
• Minimum Life Rating: 50,000 hours (rated at maximum operation).
• Power factor >0.9
• Input Voltage: 120 277V – 50 Hz
• Total Harmonic Distortion: < 20%
• UL 1598: Underwriters Laboratory (UL) has developed this safety standard for "Light Emitting Diode (LED) Light Sources for Use in Lighting Products.”
Selection Process (LED)
For the final selection of dedicated LED troffers, an LM 79 report is required (IES Approved Method for the Electrical and Photometric Measurements of Solid State Lighting Products).
Product requirements are going to be finalized in the request for proposal stage and according to interior lighting UFGS (currently being updated to include LED fixtures).
Product requirements, standards & certifications should be satisfied by at least 3 different manufacturers in the US market.
The LED dimming drivers are required to have the provide the following features
• Dims continuously from 100% to 1% lighting level
• Supports a wide range of current and voltage levels (up to 53 Watts)
• Allows you to choose either constant current reduction (CCR) or pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming for constant current drivers
• Universal input voltage (120 277 V, 50/60 Hz)*

• One driver family for all LED sources for consistent operation
• UL1310/8750 labeled drivers for use in 3rd party manufactured LED fixtures (down lights, recessed, pendants), LED strip and bar lights for under cabinet, cove and accent lighting
• LED fixtures should have the driver integrally mounted the same as fluorescent fixtures and ballasts.
• Works with 3 wire fluorescent controls, digital controls and forward phase controls (neutral wire required)
• Precision microprocessor control and integral thermal management deliver energy savings and extended product life (rated for 50,000 hours)
Certifications
LED fixtures:
• ETL listed to UL (dry and damp rated) and CSA standards
• DLC (DLC) Qualified Product List
• Designed for use with standard Grid (NEMA “G”) or Narrow Grid (NEMA “NFG”) ceiling T bars.
• Listed for use in insulated ceilings (IC Rated)
• RoHS certification
LED drivers:
• UL1310/8750 labeled: UL standard for Class 2 Power Units specifies the minimum safety requirements for Class 2 power supplies.
• Class 2 rated output
• Constant voltage for 10 to 60 V (in 0.5 V steps), 5 40 W , PMW dimming
• Constant current for 200 mA to 2.1 A (in 10 mA steps), 5 40 W, pulse width modulation dimming (PMW) or constant current reduction (CCR) dimming
• 2 wire or 3 wire control
• FCC Part 15 compliant for commercial applications at 120 V or 277 V
• Meets ANSI C62.41 category A surge protection standards up to and including 4 kV
• LED driver to meet requirements for Energy Star 1.1
• Power factor greater than 0.90 at 40 W
