QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS #2
The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and DO NOT constitute an amendment to the solicitation.
QUESTION #1:
WI 112.7.7- How much surface area is expected to be degraded?
ANSWER: -100 sq. ft
QUESTION #2:
WI 231.7.2- Three J Boxes are listed to be GFM, but 4 are to be installed. Is the SOW correct or the GFM list?
ANSWER: -3 Boxes to be installed, 1 box was previously installed
QUESTION #3:
WI 504.7.14- Are the replacement hoses GFM hoses? If so, why is the contractor responsible for the mill deliverables?
ANSWER: -New wire to be provided as GFM
QUESTION #4
WI 504.7.14- Are the replacement hoses GFM hoses? If so, why is the contractor responsible for the mill deliverables?
ANSWER: -KTR is NOT responsible for mill reports.
QUESTION #5
WI 504.19.1.M- Are the bolts not being provided as GFM? If so, why is the contractor responsible for the mill deliverables?
ANSWER: MSC has procession of bolts.
QUESTION #6
WI 941- Reference 2.1.1 is listed as 530-8495285 Rev A, the drawing provided is 530-8496453 Rev-. Please provide the appropriate drawing.

QUESTION #7
WI 1001- Reference 2.5 is missing 2 of the 3 pages. Please provide the full reference.

QUESTION #8
1. Can we grit blast to an SP-10 the entire area (or a large section) and then pressure wash the area to clean the substrate, the resulting blast standard would be a WJ-2 with the desired anchor profile and no surface contaminates. The only coating changes would be to omit zinc where specified and replace it with another coat of epoxy.
The paint manufacturer should have no problem with this procedure as it would provide a cleaner surface that is free of salts, chlorides, dust, etc and performed in past MSC projects
2. Item 105 Super Structure. Please note existing PSX (top coat) would need to hand sanded prior to applying to ensure best adhesion properties.
ANSWER:

QUESTION #9
Item 112 Specification directs in paragraph 7.7 to power tool clean. Please provide the percentage of the RAS Stations which would require this spot power tool work? i.e. 1%,5%,10% etc. Additionally, what power tool standard SP-3 or SP-11?
ANSWER: 30%

Item 113 provide the percentage of rust that should be estimated for each unit? i.e. 1%,5%,10% etc
ANSWER: 30%
QUESTION #11
Additionally is the following an acceptable work scope for item 113
| • | Spot power tool to an SP-3 all areas of rust |
| • | Hand Sand all remaining areas |
| • | Solvent wipe entire area |
| • | Apply two (2) spot coat of OFM to power tooled areas |
| • | Apply one (1) full coat of OFM to entire area |
