About this file

This document is a Summary of Changes to Requirements for Flat Railcar procurement under Navy solicitation N0016426RGW20.

The changes reflect updates to design specifications and weight configurations for the D5 Active Inert Missiles (AIM) flat railcar system. Key modifications include: deletion of an incorrect facility requirement (Note 17) and addition of a new operational constraint (Note 19) restricting D5 AIM flatcar use to lightweight AIMs with SP27435 concurrence; reduction of the AIM total weight from 130,000 lbs. to 100,000 lbs. to reflect actual shipping weight; updates to the Statement of Work requiring non-certified car builders to develop a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for certification; and corresponding reductions in four shipping configurations (4.4 through 4.7) ranging from 30,000 to 30,400 lbs. each. Additionally, the strikedown load specification was reduced from 410 kips to 355 kips. These revisions were incorporated into three primary documents: drawing 5681514 (TRIDENT II AIM Flatcar/SSE Interface Drawing), SRD-500779 (D5 Active Inert Missiles System Requirements Document), and the SOW. The changes were released as part of Amendment 0005 to the solicitation, which extended the proposal due date to May 18, 2026.
