About this file

This reporting letter from the Director of the Naval Sea Systems Command Inactive Ships On-Site Maintenance Office provides details for the dismantlement and disposal of three Mine Countermeasure ships, Ex-ARDENT (MCM-12), Ex-SCOUT (MCM 8), and Ex-CHAMPION (MCM 4). The solicitation seeks a contractor to tow the three ships from Naval Station San Diego to a CONUS facility, where the contractor will complete dismantlement and properly dispose of all regulated materials in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. The contractor will retain any proceeds from scrap or reusable materials to offset performance costs. Enclosures provide inspection reports, surveys of hazardous materials, and photographs of Ex-ARDENT to support the ship dismantlement program.
