About this file
This document outlines technical specifications for unmanned aircraft systems to be provided under the Group II and Group III Unmanned Aircraft Systems solicitation from the U.S. Coast Guard. The unmanned aircraft must be capable of taking off, operating, and recovering in various environmental conditions including crosswinds, tailwinds, gusts, rain, and temperatures from -10 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. It must have an endurance of at least 8 hours, a range of at least 200 nautical miles in clear conditions and 100 nautical miles in light rain, and be able to launch and recover from a Coast Guard cutter deck approximately 48 by 80 feet. The aircraft will need to carry electro-optical, infrared and automatic identification system sensors as well as enable communications and radar payloads. It must have lost link protocols and allow autonomous launch and recovery functions. The solicitation seeks these capabilities to support Coast Guard missions.
