Moore Park Tennis Courts Improvements - Bid Drawings
This document consists of construction drawings and specifications prepared by the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Facilities, Department of Public Works, for improvements to three tennis courts at Moore Park (1801 Pioneer Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15226). The base bid scope includes demolition of existing asphalt and concrete pads, removal and reinstallation of existing fencing and a large bleacher structure, asphalt repaving per PennDOT Superpave standards with a minimum 1.5-inch wearing course, 1.5-2 inches of leveling/binder course, and 6 inches of compacted base course, furnishing and installation of three sets of tennis posts and nets, and complete two-color resurfacing and striping of all three courts using SportMaster Sport Surfaces products in light green and light blue. Four add-alternates are available for pricing: sub-base repair or replacement as needed per detail specifications, furnishing and installing four city player benches (Model DMTS 7.5 x 2) with 8-foot by 2.5-foot concrete pads, furnishing and installing a large aluminum bleacher, and furnishing and installing trash and recycling receptacles (Victor Stanley Model SD-42 with S-2A dome lids in black and blue). The drawings specify concrete bench pads measuring 8 feet by 2.5 feet, concrete receptacle pads measuring 5 feet by 2.5 feet, and detailed construction specifications for all improvements.
Contractors are responsible for conducting site visits to evaluate sub-base conditions prior to bidding, removing and storing fencing to allow machinery access, and protecting all on-site trees to the dripline or a radius equal to one foot for every inch in tree diameter, with contractor liability for any tree damage. The contractor must repair any damages to existing courts, walkways, or other park features occurring during construction, haul and dispose of all stripped and unusable materials, and reseed all disturbed areas with maintenance provided until grass is fully established. The project drawings are dated October 28, 2025, with Project Number 2025-88509, and include site plan, layout plan, and construction detail sheets with specifications for materials, finishes, and installation requirements for all components.
