About this file

This is a construction drawing document for the Moore Park Tennis Courts Improvements project prepared by the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Facilities, Department of Public Works, located at 1801 Pioneer Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15226 (Project No. 2025-88509). The project encompasses resurfacing and improvements to three existing tennis courts with a base bid scope that includes demolition of existing asphalt, removal of existing benches and concrete pads, asphalt repaving, removal and reinstallation of a large bleacher structure, furnishing and installation of three sets of tennis posts and nets, and resurfacing and striping of all three courts using SportMaster Sport Surfaces products in light green and light blue per the existing court layout. The drawings indicate a site plan at a scale of 1" = 20' (printed on 11"x17" paper) showing court locations, proposed trash/recycling receptacle placement, and bench pad locations, along with detailed construction specifications for bituminous paving layers and finishes.

Four add-alternate options are available to the bidding vendors: Add-Alternate 1 for sub-base repair or replacement as needed; Add-Alternate 2 for furnishing and installing four city player benches (Model DMTS 7.5 x 2) on concrete pads measuring 8' x 2.5'; Add-Alternate 3 for furnishing and installing a large aluminum bleacher; and Add-Alternate 4 for furnishing and installing trash and recycling receptacles (Victor Stanley Model SD-42 with S-2A dome lids in black and blue). The contractor is required to visit the site and evaluate the sub-base prior to bidding, is responsible for protecting all trees on site with protection extending to the dripline or a radius of 1 foot per inch of tree diameter, and must repair any construction-related damages to existing courts, walkways, and park features while reseeding and maintaining all disturbed areas until grass is fully established. The contractor is also responsible for removing and storing existing fencing as needed for machinery access and reinstalling it upon completion, and for hauling and disposing of all stripped and unusable materials.
