About this file

This is a Memorandum for Columbus Air Force Base Contractors regarding Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) safeguarding requirements issued by the 14th Contracting Squadron on July 3, 2024.

The memorandum establishes mandatory CUI procedures applicable to all contractors and subcontractors at any tier working with the Department of the Air Force at Columbus Air Force Base. Key requirements include: contracting officers must insert clause 52.204-21 (Basic Safeguarding of Covered Contractor Information Systems) into solicitations and contracts when federal contract information will reside in or transit through contractor information systems; all contractors with CUI material access must complete DoD mandatory CUI training from MyLearning before accessing CUI or within 30 days of assignment to the base, with training attached to Government Point of Entry (GPE) system solicitation postings for civilian access; contractors must sign and return the memorandum as acknowledgment of training completion prior to receiving any CUI-classified contract or materials; contractors and subcontractors must notify the Contracting Officer within 72 hours of any improper CUI disclosure; and improper CUI disclosure subjects contractors to recourse actions determined by the 14th CONS/CC and CAFB Wing Information Protection Officer, including retaking CUI training, debarment from base, or contract termination. An attachment containing Contractor Initial CUI Training is referenced but not included in this document.
