About this file

This is a Memorandum for Columbus Air Force Base Contractors regarding the safeguarding of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). The memorandum, issued by the 14th Contracting Squadron on 3 July 2024, establishes mandatory procedures for all contractors and subcontractors at any tier who have access to CUI materials.

The key requirements include: contractors must insert FAR clause 52.204-21 (Basic Safeguarding of Covered Contractor Information Systems) into all solicitations and contracts involving federal contract information; all contractors with CUI access must complete DoD mandatory CUI training from MyLearning before accessing CUI or within 30 days of assignment to Columbus Air Force Base, with training made available through Government Point of Entry systems for civilian access; contractors must sign and return the accompanying memorandum as acknowledgment of training completion prior to receiving any contract or contract materials classified as CUI; contractors and subcontractors must notify the Contracting Officer within 72 hours of any improper CUI disclosure; and improper disclosure of CUI materials subjects contractors to recourse as determined by the 14th Contracting Squadron Commander and the Columbus Air Force Base Wing Information Protection Officer, including possible CUI training retakes, debarment from base, or contract termination. The memorandum serves as a binding acknowledgment document and requires signature from the contractor company representative with completion date.
