Questions and Answers

Question 1.) Will the tint application be on the inside or outside?

Answer 1.) Both. Please review the documented titled “A1 Window Tinting Details (Final)” for specifications.

Question 2.) Do we need to split the panes with two types of film, for a total of 3?

Answer 2.) No, we are eliminating the mirror privacy film because it will not provide adequate privacy during non-daylight hours; instead these have been changed to the Dusted Crystal type film as indicated on the updated spreadsheet.

Question 3.) Lift plan requirements?

Answer 3.) MBW will not specify; it is advised the follow manufacturer recommendations at a minimum and recommend compliance with EM-385-1-1 (Safety and Health Requirements Manual).

Question 4.) Period of performance?

Answer 4.) Based on industry standard procedures, MBW is amenable to extending the delivery date to 25 April 2025. This should provide enough time to complete installations in the appropriate temperature ranges (above 55F) when spring arrives, but prior to the 2025 parade season with the first parade expected to occur on 02 May 2025. Preference will be for the contractors to complete the west/parade deck side work first, but MBW understands weather impacts may require the contractors to shift installation efforts to the interior applications on poor weather days and then resuming work on the exterior applications when weather is appropriate for installation.

Question 5.) Is the street and parking directly outside of Marine Barracks Washington considered base or public? If a cherry picker is needed will we need to get permits from Department of Public Works and Transportation?

Answer 5.) The outside streets and parking are public spaces and will require arrangements with the Department of Public Works and Transportation to block off streets.

Question 6.) Will restrooms be available for contractors or will there need to be a procurement of portable restrooms.

Amswer 6.) Restrooms within MBW will be available for employees.
