About this file

This is a job aid document providing procedural guidance for deleting program chips using the BALLUFF DASHBOARD Configuration Tool. The document is marked as confidential and was revised on September 14, 2021.

The procedure involves eleven sequential steps executed on a workstation running the DASHBOARD program, accessed via WSCRAWLS or an equivalent system. Initial setup requires connecting a programmed reader, launching the BALLUFF DASHBOARD, selecting a 19200 baud rate, and designating device type BISM-410. The operator then connects to the device, places the chip on the reader write box, and configures the tag type as NXP ICODE1 with specified parameters (baud rate at 19200, continuous read length of 8 bytes, and delay of 1). The Read/Write tab is selected, with the continuous read box length and read/write length both set to 8 bytes. The operator verifies the Tag Read/Write Data box is empty before clicking "Write Tag Data" to erase the chip. The document notes that if the chip does not erase using this procedure, the operator should select "Fill Tag" and repeat step 10. Successful deletion is verified by removing the chip, placing it back on the reader, and confirming the number disappears from the tag data scrolling text field.
