About this file

This document is a job aid for the CHIP Program that provides step-by-step guidance on programming chips using RFID technology. The document is marked as Confidential, Version 001, and was revised on September 14, 2021.

The job aid instructs users to log into WSCRAWLS or any workstation with the DASHBOARD Program and connect a programmed reader to initiate the chip programming process. Users must configure the BALLUFF DASHBOARD software with a 19200 baud rate and select device type BISM-410, then connect to the system and place the chip on the reader write box. The tag type must be set to NXP ICODE1 with specific parameters: baud rate at 19200, continuous read length at 8 bytes, and delay at 1. After selecting the Read/write tab, users must set both the continuous read length and read/write length to 8 bytes. Once tag data is entered, the user clicks "Write Tag Data" to program the chip. The final verification step requires removing the chip and placing it back on the reader to confirm the ID was properly added; the identification number should appear in the tag data scrolling text field. This internal procedural document is uncontrolled when printed and directs users to refer to the posted version on SharePoint for the most current information.
