About this file

This is a regulatory compliance document for the City of Beaverton, Oregon, detailing utility locating and protection requirements for the Parkview Loop Waterline Replacement project. The document outlines mandatory procedures for contractors to follow when locating and protecting underground utilities prior to excavation work. A 48-hour notice is required before any excavation begins, with notification directed to the One Call System at (503) 246-6699, which covers multiple utility providers including Frontier Communications, Northwest Natural Gas, Qwest, U.S. Sprint, Tualatin Valley Water, City of Beaverton, Portland General Electric, Clean Water Services, and Cable Television. The document provides emergency contact numbers for individual utility companies and specifies that contractors must comply with Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 757.541 to 757.571 regarding underground utility protection. Additionally, contractors must notify the Beaverton School District Transportation department at (503) 649-0361 at least 24 hours in advance of any street closures, and obtain approval from the City Traffic Engineer before closing any streets. Upon completion of locating work, the project area must be left free of debris and unused materials.

Contractors are required to follow regulations established by the Oregon Utility Notification Center as set forth in Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) 952-001-0010 through OAR 952-001-0090. All work must be performed in compliance with Oregon law regarding utility notification procedures. The Oregon Utility Notification Center can be contacted at (503) 232-1987 for copies of applicable rules and regulations. These requirements apply to all aspects of the Parkview Loop Waterline Replacement project, which involves the installation of approximately 3,000 linear feet of 8-inch and 1,500 linear feet of 6-inch water main throughout a residential neighborhood, making strict adherence to utility protection protocols essential to project success and public safety.
