About this file
This is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Form issued by the City of Fort Myers, Florida, designed to document good faith efforts in achieving the city's 15% MBE participation goal for the Post Hurricane Ian Palm Replacement project. The form provides a structured template for prime contractors and subcontractors to detail their outreach, communication, and engagement with minority-owned businesses, including sections for documenting transmittal letters, contact records, quotation reviews, and reasons for MBE selection or non-selection.
The form requires detailed documentation of MBE involvement, including specific contact information, contract dollar amounts, work descriptions, project commitment and completion dates, and verification of communication methods. The City of Fort Myers mandates that contractors demonstrate proactive efforts to include minority businesses in the bidding and contract execution process, with the goal of promoting equitable participation in the palm tree replacement project along McGregor Boulevard, which involves installing 143 Royal Palms from Henley Place to Georgetown's south entrance.
