About this file
This document is a Technology Review form from the City of St. Petersburg's Transportation and Parking Management Department, submitted on 30-MAY-25, detailing a License Plate Recognition (LPR) Technology initiative. The Parking Enforcement Division is seeking to install two Genetec AutoVU systems with Overtime enforcement capabilities on two three-wheeled enforcement vehicles. The system will be used to time-stamp vehicles on-street that exceed parking time restrictions in downtown St. Petersburg and surrounding areas, identify paid versus unpaid vehicles, track permitted vehicles, and enforce virtual permits for the residential parking program. The planned implementation date is August 1, 2025.
The total project cost is estimated at $90,000 for the original purchase in the first year, with $5,000 annually for maintenance and cloud hosting in subsequent years. The technology will be cloud-based and does not involve storing any non-public data or connecting to existing city systems. The project will be funded through Operating Fund 1021, Department 281, Division 1957. The technology proposal underwent review and received approvals from Daniel E. Mory on 30-MAY-2025 and Lesley A. Ward on 11-JUN-2025, with the Technology Review Work Group confirming it is acceptable to proceed with the procurement process.
