About this file
This is an Addendum No. 2 issued by Hurtig, Gardner, Froelich, Architects, Inc. for the Lamar Community College Bowman Building Lecture Halls Remodel project located at 2602 N. Elizabeth Street in Pueblo, Colorado, with the project site at 2401 S. Main Street in Lamar, Colorado. The addendum modifies specifications and drawing requirements for the lecture hall renovation work and is applicable to all known bidders. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this two-page addendum on the bid form and attach it to the scope of work. Key specification modifications include allowing the General Contractor to maintain a local field office within 30 miles of the College Campus as an alternative to an on-site portable field office, and adding requirements for aisle light fixtures and designated aisle seats with articulating armrests that comply with 2012 IBC Section 1108.2.5 in the lecture room seating specification. Drawing clarifications address electrical demolition, new work lighting plans, and power plans across multiple sheets, including modifications to EM inverter ratings, alternate provisions for extension rings in Lecture Halls 139 and 138, automatic lighting control system hours, emergency egress wiring for Type F fixtures, and coordination of furniture-integrated step lights with existing circuits.
The addendum establishes coordination responsibilities requiring the General Contractor to oversee all subcontractor work and submit Requests for Information to the Owner and Architect prior to electrical or mechanical rough-in if coordination conflicts arise. Additional clarifications specify that MC cable use is restricted to feeding lighting fixtures from ceiling junction boxes, fishing existing walls for concealed branch circuits, and fishing sections where EMT cannot be installed. The electrical contractor must confirm mechanical equipment connections prior to rough-in, coordinate occupancy sensor locations per manufacturer recommendations, coordinate with all trades to maintain NEC clearances, and obtain architect approval for any exposed raceway routing. Cost implications include potential relocation expenses for occupancy sensors at the electrical contractor's expense if devices fail to achieve required coverage. No pricing terms, set-asides, funding sources, or contract award dates are specified in this addendum document.
