About this file
This is Addendum #1 for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Engineering Bureau's Kellerton Wildlife Area Headquarters project (Project No. 12-04-80-04) in Ringgold County, Iowa, issued on August 30, 2012. The addendum provides clarifications regarding the septic system requirements, water supply responsibilities, and construction specifications. Key modifications include details about rural water supply arrangements where the contractor is responsible for water supply beyond the pit and meter, requirements for capping the water line to the east, specification of 7/16" OSB finish for SIP walls, removal of electrical contractor certification requirements, and changing the service water line material from CPVC to PVC pipe.
The document includes detailed septic system specifications requiring a minimum 1,500-gallon septic tank, conventional 2'-0" wide trenches with minimum 500 feet length or chamber system alternative of 400 linear feet, and specific distribution box requirements. The soil analysis results conducted on December 21, 2011, indicate Olmitz soils with a loading rate of .45 gallons per square foot, requiring trenches at depths of 18-24 inches with a maximum of 30 inches. The document also includes multiple approved material substitutions for roof panels, wall panels, doors, and waterproofing systems from manufacturers including Firestone, MBCI, MSMC, Skold, and Manko.
