About this file

This technical specification document is for the City of Tucson's Joaquin Murrieta Park Splash Pad project, developed in collaboration with Pima Association of Governments (PAG) and using standard specifications for public improvements. The project involves constructing a splash pad and associated infrastructure at 1400 N. Silverbell Road in Tucson, Arizona, including concrete structures, water/sanitary piping, irrigation systems, landscaping, electrical work, and site lighting. The technical specifications provide comprehensive details for contractors, covering everything from earthwork and concrete installation to electrical systems, plumbing, and landscape elements. The documents outline precise requirements for materials, installation methods, testing protocols, quality assurance, and performance standards across multiple technical divisions.

The project appears to be fully funded by the City of Tucson, with a competitive bidding process anticipated. The technical specifications suggest a comprehensive approach to project execution, with explicit requirements for material quality, installation techniques, and post-construction warranties. Contractors will be expected to provide detailed submittals, including shop drawings, product data, material certifications, and mockups for various project components. The specifications mandate rigorous quality control, including testing of materials, precise installation methods, and performance evaluations. Warranty periods range from 12 months for plant materials to longer terms for specific systems, indicating the city's commitment to long-term infrastructure quality and performance.

The Contractor agrees that it will not make a claim against the City for any loss of work or agreement time associated with a City demand for corrective action.

If, in the opinion of the duly authorized representatives of the City, an emergency condition or public nuisance exists, the City also retains the right to correct unsafe, unsightly, or ill-maintained site conditions and recover any costs incurred by the City for those corrections against the Contractor, if again, the Contractor has not responded to the City’s requests for corrective action. The Contractor will be allowed not more than 48 hours in which to make corrections as requested by the City prior to the City commencing any work.
