About this file

This is Addendum 1 to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the City of Ocala, Florida Water Resources Department for mowing services at the Ocala Wetland Recharge Park. The project involves mowing and maintenance of approximately 30 acres of grassy areas at the 60-acre park located at 2105 NW 21st Street, Ocala, Florida. A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on May 15, 2026 at 8:30 AM at the park site under the pavilion. The resulting contract will be for an initial three-year term with two optional one-year renewal periods. All contractors must coordinate with Matthew Stanley, Conservation Supervisor of Water Resources, at 352-351-6772 or Mstanley@ocalafl.gov, and must maintain a valid telephone number and address with voicemail capability during normal business hours.

The budget for the initial contract term is $120,000. Addendum 1, issued on May 18, 2026, removed the spray license requirement previously included in the solicitation, as the Water Resources Department will handle all herbicide spraying. The addendum clarifies that initial mowing services include clearing all fence lines along the park perimeter on the park side and outside fence lines on the south and east sides, with removal of foliage, moss, and establishment of an 8-foot cleared buffer on the inside park perimeter where overgrowth is present. A 5 percent bid bond is required for submission. Contractors must have attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting to be eligible to submit a bid.

Solicitation Title: Mowing for Ocala Wetland Recharge Park

SECTION 1. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1.1 QUESTION: What is the budget for mowing at Ocala Wetland Recharge Park?

ANSWER: The budget for the initial contract term is $120,000.

SECTION 2. SOLICITATION ADDITIONS, CLARIFICATIONS AND CORRECTIONS

2.1 Scope Correction:

Water Resources would like to remove the spray license requirement. The department does not want the vendor to do any spraying of herbicides in the Ocala Wetland Recharge Park. The department will handle any spraying of herbicides that needs to be done. If the awarded vendor would like to have an area sprayed, they can make the request to the project manager, who will then determine if spraying is warranted. The department will spray under some of the overlook areas once it has been trimmed, in order to help maintain those areas.

2.2 Scope Clarification:

The initial service will include clearing all fence lines along the park perimeter on the park side, as well as the outside fence lines on the south and east sides of the park. Fence line clearing will include removal of all foliage growing through or against the fence, removal of all moss, and establishment of an 8-foot cleared buffer on the inside park perimeter where overgrowth is present.
