About this file
This is Addendum 1 to an Invitation to Bid issued by Ocala Utility Services/Resource Management for the City of Ocala, Florida on August 3, 2026, pertaining to ITB OFN 261008 for non-stock fiber optic cable for the Dearman Buildout project in Fiscal Year 2026. The scope requires three AFL Flex-Span ADSS cable products totaling 345,000 feet: 130,000 feet of 12-count single-mode cable, 151,000 feet of 24-count gel-free cable, and 64,000 feet of 48-count single-mode cable. Sealed bids are due electronically through the AURSI system by 2:00 p.m. on August 10, 2026. The addendum clarifies four critical specifications: Ocala Fiber Network retains ownership of the fiber optic cable following installation and project completion; the maximum distance between poles for ADSS cable self-support is 200 feet; the fiber cable will be installed on existing poles carrying 7200-volt power lines with a required 40-inch separation distance from the neutral in the communication zone; and the required weather loading rating for the installation area is medium per NEC/NESC standards. Award may be made within sixty days of bid opening, with a standard ninety-day bid period unless the City specifies a one-year contract term with a one-year renewal option.
All cable must meet IEEE 1222, ANSI/EIA 359-A, TIA 598-D, ITU-T G.652D/G.657.A1, and NESC/CSA standards with RoHS compliance. Pricing is quoted as firm unit prices per foot with total extensions; all costs include delivery on non-returnable wood reels with standard commercial packaging, FOB Ocala, Florida, freight prepaid. No alternate manufacturers or products are accepted. A local-vendor preference applies to vendors meeting City of Ocala Code criteria and submitting the Local Vendor Preference Affidavit of Eligibility. Payment terms are net thirty days from invoice receipt unless prompt-payment discounts are offered. The City does not pay federal excise or sales taxes. Required submittals include Bid Response Form, Affidavit of Compliance, Drug Free Workplace Certificate, references, E-Verify Form, and MSDS sheets if applicable. A copy of the signature page and all required documents, excluding the pricing page, must be emailed to mstlaurent@ocalafl.org immediately after posting to AURSI.
