About this file

This document is Addendum #1 for the City of Ocala's Foundation Waterproofing project at Ocala City Hall, issued under Solicitation Number ITB# FAC/250918. The addendum addresses specific questions about water intrusion in the building's basement and clarifies vegetation removal requirements for bidders. The project involves addressing approximately 30 small water intrusions on both sides of the building's basement, which was originally covered in dirt and is being transformed into a storage area.

The addendum provides key clarifications for potential contractors, specifically noting that removal of vegetation and irrigation systems within the designated work area is permitted and necessary. Contractors are responsible for removing and properly disposing of any vegetation or irrigation components needed to complete the project, with no requirement to replace removed vegetation. The City will ensure any plantings or materials they wish to retain are removed prior to the commencement of work.

Solicitation Title: Foundation Waterproofing for Ocala City Hall

SECTION 1. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. QUESTION: (in the basement) Is evidence of water intrusion only at the base and not alongside the wall (west side of the building)?

ANSWER: The water comes through the wall as well. There are approximately 30 small water intrusions from both sides of the building; sprinklers are also on the same side of the building.

2. QUESTION: (in the basement) Was the concrete cut out due to the water?

ANSWER: No, originally the basement was covered in dirt. We have been adding concrete throughout and want to create a foundation to use as a storage area. We found the water issues while creating the space. Once the water issue is resolved, we will continue to add a slab of concrete to complete the job.

SECTION 1. CLARIFICATION

1. As outlined in the 'Anticipated Tasks' section of the Scope of Work, the removal of vegetation and irrigation systems within the designated work area is permitted as needed. Replacement of vegetation is not required. Any plantings or materials the City wishes to retain will be removed prior to the commencement of your work. You are responsible for removing and properly disposing of any vegetation or irrigation components necessary to complete the project.
