About this file
The document is a City Commission agenda item from the City of Altamonte Springs, Florida, regarding a solicitation award for water and wastewater treatment chemicals for the city's water treatment plants and water reclamation facility (Solicitation ITB-25-051-KY). The procurement process involved twelve bids publicly opened on August 27, 2025, with the Public Works and Utilities Department evaluating the bids and contacting the lowest bidders to confirm technical specifications and delivery requirements. Three bidders ultimately withdrew bids for certain items, leading to a recommended split award strategy with primary and secondary awardees for each of five chemical items.
The recommended awards cover five specific chemical products: phosphoric acid, aluminum sulfate, liquid sodium bisulfite, MicroC® 2000 (or equivalent), and liquid sodium hypochlorite. The total awarded amounts range from $3,150 to $134,320 per item, with companies such as Thatcher Chemical of Florida, Univar Solutions USA, Brenntag Mid-South, Momar, Inc., and Hawkins, Inc. being selected as primary or secondary awardees. The fiscal information indicates sufficient budget funds are available, and the recommendation is to award the solicitation to the listed primary and secondary vendors for each chemical item based on their submitted bid amounts.
