About this file

This document is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the replacement of 432 Adult In Custody (AIC) beds and the addition of 442 steps at the Clackamas County Jail (CCJ) in Oregon. The ITB seeks a vendor to develop custom, powder-coated brackets to be installed in areas that will not allow for back-to-back installation, and to provide the necessary anchoring bolt size requirements. The County expects the winning vendor to provide this information after a mandatory walk-through. The ITB also addresses COVID-19 requirements, which are only applicable in the medical area where 4 lower beds and 4 upper bunks, along with steps, will be installed. Limited on-site storage will be available for the successful vendor.

The ITB is open to all interested firms, and there are no specific pricing terms, set-asides, or incumbent information provided. The project is funded by the County, but the document does not specify the amount or source of funding. The ITB is seeking a vendor to provide a comprehensive solution for the replacement and installation of the AIC beds and steps at the CCJ.

INVITATION TO BID #2022-80

Clackamas County Jail Beds and Installation

RESPONSE TO CLARIFYING QUESTIONS

September 8, 2022

Note that these are questions submitted by interested firms to the above referenced solicitation. The below answers are for clarification purposes only and in no way alter or amend the RFP as published.

1. Do you have any specs, plans, or details on the (Qty. 59) Custom, powder-coated brackets to be installed in areas that will not allow for back-to-back installation and/or anchoring bolt size requirements?

Answer: We do not have specifications on this, we are relying on the winning to vendor to develop this after the mandatory walk through, the County expects that this combined with the bed specification will provide more than enough information to develop the brackets.

2. Is there any Covid requirements for the contractor or subs?

Answer: The County Jail only requires this in the medical area, where install will require installing 4 lower beds and 4 upper bunks along with steps.

3. Is on-site storage available for supply?

Answer: There will be limited space available for storage on site, this will also be addressed at the mandatory walk through.
