About this file
This document contains the Government Paper Specification Standards for index paper, used for a variety of office printing applications. It provides detailed technical specifications for different grades of index paper, including 100% cotton, 25% cotton, and groundwood pulp-based stocks. Key specifications include basis weight, bursting strength, tearing strength, thickness, ruling and writing quality, and erasing quality. The standards also address color, brightness, cleanliness, and other general appearance requirements.
The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation from the Government Publishing Office (GPO) seeking information from vendors with experience manufacturing specialty paper, envelopes, and corrugated containers for large-volume printing requirements. The GPO is researching market solutions for delivering these products.
