About this file

This file is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document related to the PIMC Fire Alarm Replacement Services solicitation (IHS1530891). The document contains clarifications and responses to inquiries submitted by prospective contractors regarding the fire alarm system replacement project at Phoenix Indian Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Q&A document addresses contractor questions about the firm-fixed-price solicitation requirements for replacing the existing NOTIFIER NFS-640 Fire Alarm Control Panel with a NOTIFIER INSPIRE N16x panel and upgrading the GUI system to the latest NOTIFIER ONYXWorks workstation. Key topics likely covered in the Q&A include clarifications on contractor qualifications (NOTIFIER Engineered Systems Distributor or authorized distributor status), technical specifications, compatibility requirements with existing field devices and components, programming and commissioning requirements in accordance with NFPA 72, training requirements for government personnel, and project execution within the 100-calendar-day period of performance. This Q&A document serves to provide official guidance on the solicitation terms, technical requirements, and evaluation criteria to ensure prospective contractors have consistent information when preparing their quotes.

Text version

· Does the site have a pre-action fire suppression system or a clean agent system?

· No. All fire suppression is water based. We have a combination of standard and quick response sprinkler heads in the building(s).

· Does the site currently use fiber or copper communications?

· I believe its fiber but copied Mark Downing on the email

· If fiber is installed, is it single-mode or multi-mode?

· Question for Mark Downing.

· Does the main building have a smoke control system?

· PIMC does not have a smoke control system.

Mark’s response We use fiber between buildings and I recall having a rather large debate back in “the day” about whether it should be multi-mode or single-mode and I seem to remember we decided on Multi-mode (Darrin is that correct? Cory would know too). Our horizontal cabling is copper… CAT-6 I believe.

If you are talking about our handoff from the LEC, I am 99.9% sure that we receive a copper handoff but again I would want to defer to someone closer to the service. I cannot imagine a world where a carrier in Phoenix would give us copper.
