The City seeks decomposed granite gravel with specifications of red to dark pink coloring and maximum gradation of one-quarter inch minus, to be delivered via end-dump trucks within 24 hours of order placement. The estimated annual quantity is 7,250 tons with deliveries placed on an as-needed basis with no minimum order quantities, meaning orders will vary and will not always constitute full semi-truck loads. The initial contract term is 24 months from award, with options for up to three additional 12-month extensions at the City's sole discretion. Questions were due by Friday, April 10, 2026 at 5:00 PM CT, and sealed bids were due Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM CT, with bid opening at 3:00 PM CT. The selected contractor must maintain staffed customer service Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and respond to all City requests within three hours.

Pricing shall be submitted on a fixed unit price basis with potential for annual price adjustments after the first 12 months based on the Producers Price Index for nonmetallic mineral mining and quarrying. The City considers best value pricing and offers local and small business discounts of 5 percent for bids up to $500,000 and 3 percent for bids between $500,000 and $50 million to entities headquartered within the Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos Metropolitan Statistical Area and Small Business Administration-certified small businesses. No MBE-WBE subcontracting goals apply to this solicitation. Contractors must provide at least three verifiable references demonstrating similar services within the last five years, maintain comprehensive insurance including Worker's Compensation with limits of $100,000 per accident and $500,000 by disease, Commercial General Liability with minimum $500,000 per occurrence, and Business Automobile Liability with combined single limit of $500,000 per occurrence. All employers must complete the Employer Certification for the Wage Theft Ordinance Responsibility Criteria and complete City of Austin Wage Theft Training within 30 days of contract award. Payment will be made within 30 calendar days of receipt of proper invoices referencing delivery order number, contract number, shipment location, and material weight per truck scale tickets.
