About this file

This is a Solicitation Addendum (Addendum No. 1, dated April 13, 2026) issued by the City of Austin Financial Services—Central Procurement for Invitation for Bid (IFB) 8600 BYS1053, a decomposed granite gravel purchase and delivery contract managed jointly by the Parks and Recreation Department and the Transportation and Public Works Department. The solicitation seeks bids for the purchase and delivery of red to dark pink decomposed granite gravel with a maximum gradation of one-quarter inch minus to be used as surfacing material on hike and bike trails and designated park areas throughout Austin. The estimated annual quantity is 7,250 tons, with deliveries required within 24 hours of receiving a delivery order via end-dump trucks. Bidders must provide staffed customer service Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and respond to all city requests within three hours. Offers were due on April 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM CT, with bid opening at 3:00 PM CT. The initial contract term is 24 months with options for up to three additional 12-month extensions at the city's sole discretion.

Addendum 1 clarifies that the Scope of Work includes unloading only and that no minimum quantity per delivery is required. Pricing must be submitted on a fixed unit price basis with potential annual adjustments after the first 12 months based on the Producers Price Index for nonmetallic mineral mining and quarrying. The city reserves the right to award a single contract or make multiple awards among the lowest and most responsive bidders and will consider best value pricing with local and small business discounts of 5 percent for bids up to $500,000 and 3 percent for bids between $500,000 and $50 million. Contractors must provide at least three verifiable references demonstrating similar services within the last five years, maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including Worker's Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Business Automobile Liability with specified limits, and complete the City of Austin Wage Theft Training within 30 days of contract award. Payment will be made within 30 calendar days of receipt of proper invoices referencing the delivery order number, contract number, shipment location, and material weight per truck scale tickets. No MBE-WBE subcontracting goals apply to this solicitation.
