About this file

This is an Employer Certification document for the City of Austin's Wage Theft Ordinance Responsibility Criteria, applicable to all vendors submitting offers for city contracts, including the procurement of mattresses, box spring sets, and bed frames for Austin Fire and Austin EMS. The certification requires that any employer awarded a city contract must not have been adjudicated for wage theft-related offenses as defined in Austin City Code Chapter 4, Section 4-22-1(G) and (H) within five years prior to contract submission. All awarded employers are required to complete the City of Austin Wage Theft Training within 30 days of contract award.

The certification must be completed and signed under penalty of perjury by an authorized representative of the firm, with the signatory confirming that the firm has not been adjudicated for wage theft incidents and agrees to comply with the provisions outlined in Austin City Code Section 4-22-5(B) and Section 4-22-6(A). The document requires completion of standard certification fields including firm name, authorized signatory information, title, location of signature, and date. Employers with questions regarding the wage theft program requirements may contact the City of Austin Wage Compliance Team at wagetheft@austintexas.gov.
